Recuerdos

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. ” Winston Churchill If that is true, Vicki Lynn made a great life for herself. She was the most loving, giving, and happy-go-lucky person you could have ever known. Never did you ever see her without a big, beautiful smile on her face. Vicki Lynn Goldy was born in Victorville, California, on November 22, 1956. Vicki Lynn Bright died on March 6, 2023; she was 66. She was taken from us unexpectedly and will be missed for all our days. She was the third child of seven born to John Brown Goldy and Arlene Francis Goldy. They lived in Victorville, California; Essex, England; Amarillo, Texas; and Rantoul, Illinois, then settled in Sacramento, California. Vicki and Richard Bright grew up in the same neighborhood and started dating in high school. They were married on January 22, 1977, at St. John Vincent Catholic Church in Sacramento, California. Together they had three children: Elaina, Jesse, and Jackie. Vicki studied Nursing before she became a mother, and motherhood was her passion and number one priority in her life. Vicki was adventurous and loved camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring with her family. She loved to do anything that would put her creative mind to work. She loved sewing and arts and crafts but had an amazing talent for carpentry and woodworking. She is survived by her brothers Gary, James, and Douglas. The father of her children, Richard, their children, and their spouses: Elaina (Charles), Jesse (Chasity), Jackie (Robert), her grandchildren: Dareaus, Tyler, Levi, AJ, Benjamin, Reed, her nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlene, father “Jack,” and her brothers, Richard, Johnny, and Kirk. We are left with a vast void that Vicki once filled with joy, and the sun shines less bright without Vicki here with us. She loved every one of us and has left us with beautiful memories we will cherish forever. Funeral services will be held this Friday, March 17th, 2023, at 3:00 pm Herberger Funeral Home. 9101 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local SPCA in honor of Vicki Lynn Bright, as she loved all animals and rescued many.

Love my memories of my cousin Vicki Lynn. We loved listening to music and doing crafts. She took me to my first Rocky Horror Picture Show screening! As she was only 10 years younger than my mom, she was basically my COOL aunt. I will cherish my memories of her visits to us and ours to her. Camping with her family and much more. Rest in Peace Vicki Lynn. You are remembered. <3 cindi
