Alison Kay Perrin

Alison Kay Perrin, née Farley, a long-time resident of Elk Grove, California, passed away peacefully at California Care Homes on September 21, 2026 at the age of 81. She was known by her middle name, Kay.  She was a loving wife to Robert and mother to three girls, Renee, Teresa, and Annette. Kay was a life-long devoted and faithful Catholic and a member of St. Maria Goretti parish from its founding in 2007.

Kay was born on December 31, 1944 in Caliente, Nevada, the daughter of Kenneth J. and Zelma T. Farley. She was an only child. While her mother was ill and her father worked, Kay spent part of her youth in a Catholic convent, where she learned piano and had a pet canary. Growing up, Kay was particularly close to her Aunt Margaret and Uncle Cecil Quinley, whose biography was a comfort to her in her later years.Kay married Robert Perrin on January 28, 1967 at St. Luke’s Church, Stockton, California.  They first made their home in Stockton and in 1971 moved to Elk Grove, California, where they built their home and raised their three girls.  Kay was a loving and dedicated wife and mother.  She liked art, flowers, her travel trailer, books, especially cook books and those on pioneer women of the Sierra, and visits to family, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. She sang in the choir at St. Joseph’s Church in Elk Grove.  As her children grew, Kay returned to college and earned a business degree from Consumes River College.Kay loved music and played the piano beautifully. Music has provided her joy throughout her life, even through illness. She also was an artist and painted outdoor scenes and wildlife. Her paintings had decorated her home and later her care home bedroom.Remaining to cherish Kay’s memory are her husband, Robert Perrin; children, Renee Holland and her husband Tim Holland, Teresa Perrin and her husband Brian Bland, and Annette Putzka Perrin and her husband Gregor Putzka; and grandchildren, Sophia Holland and Timothy Holland.The viewing will be held Sunday, October 4, at Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel at 9101 Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove from 2-4pm.

A rosary will be held Monday, October 5 at 11am at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 8700 Bradshaw Rd, Elk Grove, with mass at 11:30 am.

The interment will take place immediately following at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, 10232 Pleasant Grove School Rd, Elk Grove.

After the interment, a reception will be held back at St. Maria Goretti in the hall.
