Renee Antoinette Castro

Renee Antoinette Castro, known to many who loved her as Auntie NeyNey, passed away after a courageous 2-year battle with Mucosal Melanoma on September 26, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones. 

 

She was born on January 24, 1978 to Jimmy Renteria and Teresa Enriquez in San Jose, California. She is survived by her parents, her two brothers and two sisters, her ever supportive husband Henry Castro and two loving children Nadyia and Noah Castro. She is also survived by her two young pups, Frederico and Brisket.

 

Renee worked as a dental hygienist for over a decade, touching the lives of many in her day to day work. She brought laughter and bright smiles to many inside and out of her occupation. Her extraordinary and outgoing character is marked by the many things that she loved and enjoyed: including adventurousness in her love for camping and her true trend setter style in her passion for makeup and fashion. 

 

Renee had an eye for beauty in everything, around a campfire, in a garden, or in her vanity mirror doing what she loved, always carrying her own beauty wherever she went. Vivid and unforgettable, a true dahlia, never losing her color even as the bloom closes. 

 

As a devoted wife, fun spirited sister and mother, and a welcoming family member or friend, Renee’s spunky character filled every room and every space she was a part of. She was always a warm person to be around, incredibly dependable, with an unforgettably contagious bright smile. 

 

A funeral service will be held on:

October 15, 2026 at 10:30am at

Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel

9101 Elk Grove Blvd,

Elk Grove, Ca 95624

followed by a burial ceremony at 2pm at

Hilltop Cemetery in Elk Grove.

 

A celebration of life will follow after the burial.
