Carla Demetrius McDaniel

Carla Demetrius, Cool Breeze McDaniel also known as Cool Breeze passed away on August 3, 2025 in Sacramento, California at the age of 64. Carla was born on September 18, 1960 in Oakland, California to her loving parents OK and Daisy McDaniel. Carla brought warmth and joy to all who knew her throughout a life defined by dedication, love and resilience. Carla early years were spent in Oakland where she attended Oakland technical high school. A proud member of the swim team she demonstrated determination and spirit from a young age. After graduating high school, she continue her education at community college while also begin in her lifelong journey as a hard-working professional.

Carla began working while still in high school and built a career, rooted in strength and perseverance. She held various labor intensive roles across several industries operating forklifts, working in assembly lines, and contributing to production teams. Her work ethic was evident and every position she held. Over the years, she went her talent to company such as western electric, Doll pineapple packaging company, Packerville computers, And ultimately dignity health at mercy San Juan Hospital. At Mercy San Juan Hospital Carla found a lasting professional home where she work for over the past 25 years with unwavering commitment.

Beyond her professional life, Carla was deeply devoted to her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Terry Meyers, Her two children, Tiffany Whitfield and Quincy McDaniel, Her cherished grandsons Jockeith  Walker, Quincy, McDaniel Junior, Frank, Williams Junior and TreVionne Williams, And two adored great grandsons, Sebastian and Andres Walker.

Carla is also survived by her loving mother Daisy McDaniel, Sisters Pamela McDaniel, Tina McDaniel, Sandra McDaniel, Nadine McDaniel, And Wanda McDaniel, Brothers James Bryant, Dexter McDaniel, Darryl McDaniel and Edward McDaniel. She now joins an eternal rest, those who went before her, Her father OK McDaniel, Brother’s Otis McDaniel and Kelvin McDaniel, and sister Onita Fields.

Carla’s presence was magnetic, She had a gift for bringing people together through laughter, and love. She found joy in simple pleasures like fishing with her family and cooking hearty meals for family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and playing cards with friends late into the evening. Her home was always open to those She cared about, a place where everyone felt welcome, She was known for her dinners, heart and spirit. Carla was more than just a daughter or mother. She was a granny whose hugs could heal any wound, a sister who’s loyalty never waiver and aunt who’s wisdom guided generations, a friend whose laughter lit up rooms.
